Our Township has a proud heritage and many fascinating historical features dating back to the Revolutionary War.  Franklin Township has a rich history hailing to the coal and coke era of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and features a historical museum dedicated to local living during the coal mining days.

Franklin Township is accessible via Route 51 and Route 201, is bordered on the southwest by Redstone Creek, which is a tributary of the Monongahela River, and our Township extends northeast to the Youghiogheny River.
