Franklin Elementary completes first phase of playground renovation

Franklin Elementary School, located in Vanderbilt and part of the Uniontown Area School District, recently completed the first phase of its playground renovation. The new playground was made possible through generous donations from local businesses, several fundraising events, and generous donations from parents and members of the community.

Trick or Treat 2019!

It’s trick or treat time again as the world celebrates Halloween.

We ask youths who are venturing out to use safety precautions and also asking residents to put on their porch lights if they plan to participate.

The following are community 2019 trick-or-treat schedules:

  • Franklin Township: 5-7 p.m. Oct. 25

 

Franklin Elementary participates in Pennies for Patients campaign

Students from Franklin Elementary School, part of the Uniontown Area School District, raised more than $800 during their Pennies for Patients campaign that benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Road Closure Route 201 Franklin Township, Fayette County

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 201 in Franklin Township, Fayette County will be closed and detoured for two weekends so that two culverts can be replaced. Once the culverts are replaced, the roadway will be resurfaced.
